Giveaway Entry

Yesterday I did a Longboard Deck graphics design for a Giveaway on CJLongboards you can view his blog here. It was a pretty basic design but I thought it turned out real good; I’m waiting to see what place I got in his giveaway.

The design that I put on the longboard was a purple circular design, with circles on the left and right on of the “C.J.Longboard”. The text “C.J.Longboard” is in a destroyed style of text with a purple glow and am outa drop shadow to make it look 3d and also an inner drop shadow to make it look like it is even more imbedded into the board, same goes for the “Making the Impossible always Possible” text. I also added on the board a flare which you can’t really see that well, is it is a white flare, but It turned out good, and made a little wormer feeling. You also might be able to see on the white background of the deck itself, there is a very faint grunge overlay over the board so it’s not just a white boring old background I added a little effect.

Invalid's Den

Also coming up in the next couple of weeks or in the next month will be my setup video if and when I reach 75 subscribers on YouTube. Just to give you a little behind the scenes my setup consists of a 32" Sony TV and a 20" Compaq Monitor, this is used as a dual screen setup and also my 32" TV is also used for my Xbox 360 and also for Internet TV. My gaming setup is also is my own personal lounge room and has a guest bedroom and my bedroom going off to the left of it, you can’t see in the picture above but you will be able to see in the video. Also included in my setup is my Custom Made computer, the specs for the computer are as follows:

• Processor: Intel Core i7 2nd Generation - 2600 @ 3.40GHz
• 2x4GB Corsair RAM stick to make up 8GB of RAM
• System Type: 64 - bit Operating System 
• 1TB HDD with 500GB Portable
• Cooler Master HAF 912 Case

Video Blog

So this week sometime my video blog will be going up on YouTube, and can be viewed here. And no guys, im sorry I will not be showing my face on this video I will be just going through who one my give away competition and what not. I will also incorporate that with with a little How To, or something along those tutorial lines.

I know the giveaway wasn't big as I only had 1 entry but oh well, not to worry theres always the future, and I didn't expect to get many because I was only giving away templates.

Also what happened in the last week was that I signed up for adsense and now I'm making money on my blog and youtube channel. So now I will now have ad's displayed on this blog sometime through out this month because Google is still re-viewing my blog to see what blog they want to advetise. I also signed up for youtube partnership through Fullscreen and am still waiting on what their verdict is on my Youtube channel.

The Acrez Blog Review

The Acrez Blog is a great Motion and Graphic Designer blog. Acrez himself is very talented at what he does, his skills with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D are the skills of a professional Motion and Graphics Designer. He runs a very simple to read blog and a very nice and a very well maintained YouTube Channel. The blog itself if an active site with 22 active members (one of them is myself), and he has well over 20,000 website hits on his blog. His YouTube channel is more regularly visited, as he has well over 73,000 Subscribers, and nearly 11,000,000 total video views.

His blog offers a wide range of video tutorial all the way through Photoshop to Cinema 4D. Acrez also dose free templates for views and readers to use, some of the free templates he offers are “After Effects YouTube Intro”, “After Effects Bouncing Text” and “After Effects Tapcode Particular Logo”.  Also featured on his blog is a wide range of video tutorials on a wide range of softwares, I have to say these tutorials have helped me out a lot with making myself a good Graphics Designer.

There is nothing really negative to say about Acrez, his nice guy, by just telling from his videos, he has some very good tutorial videos, and has a review on Adobe Photoshop Cs6 Beta. Acrez would have to be one of my inspirations to being a Graphics Designer today, so I would just like to thank him for that.

Another Update

Alright guys, last week was very jam packed. I had to finish off a clients YouTube background. Alright let me just talk a little bit about his YouTube Background, I enjoyed creating this background. He asked for a ‘Minecraft’ theme background and I delivered I am still yet to send it to him due to the fact I was just fiddling around with some colour correction and what not, but I will email him the background tonight. I have also moved into a new house about 2 – 3 weeks ago and created a new Gaming/Graphics Setup, I will be uploading that video to my personal channel on Sunday.

I am also looking and thinking at creating a Gaming blog just specifically for my Gaming, as I now have a HD PVR and can record Xbox 360 gameplay. This will be uploaded to my personal YouTube channel and a link will be provided below. One of the main Video Series featured on my YouTube channel is the ‘Elite Hitmarkers Series’ where I during the week sniper for 3 days, (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and once I have gotten at least one hitmaker for that day then I start to edit/put together the ‘Elite Hitmaker Series’. Hey Guys, I'm back from the school holidays and am not to excited about being back at school. I didn't really do to much exciting things on the holidays except for going to Melbourne and visiting friends and family.

Hi Agian!
Although it was only a short trip I still got to see my cousin, Matt (Perplexr) and stay the night at his place, Perplexr and I are thinking about creating a YouTube channel together, where there will be gaming and graphics content. We are still throwing around some idea's as to what the channel should be called and I am not going to reveal the name of the channel untill we have got it up and running with a background and whatnot.

Hauppague HD PVR
I am ordering a Hauppauge HD-PVR to record game play from Xbox to upload to the new channel. I am getting it from PCMeal from the Australian Ebay site as I know they are trusted and would like to spread the word about them. I an just going to go off topic for a second here and talk about PCMeal, They are 100% trusted and I highly recommend you if you’re buying any electronic product off the internet check their Ebay store out first. I have bought my Gaming Computer off them and also Windows 7 and haven't had any problems yet with both of them (touch wood). Anyway back to the Hauppauge HD-PVR, I am getting this only because I've wanted one ever since Perplexr got one, and as we live in different states it would be hard to use his PVR, so now, I'm getting one for myself so I can do commentaries by myself. You are probly sitting and reading this post and thinking, Nathan, WHAT THE HELL DUDE, THIS IS MENT TO ME A GRAPHICS DESIGNS BLOG! But, I'm thinking about adding a new section into this blog fro gaming. I am still going to be doing Graphics Designs, (because I'm getting order from people to make them YouTube backgrounds) so if you are a Graphics Designer and read my blog because it's a Graphics Designs blog that’s okay, because the content is still going to be the same as what I produce now, all I am doing is adding a new section.

I have also made you guys a basic Diptych that can have three (3) photo's on it, I will be doing a Diptych pack later on down the track but for now I have just put together a simple one for you hope you enjoy it. The download like will be provided at the top of this blog post.

Anyway I'm going to stop rambling on and just finish up this blog post now. I hope you guys are enjoying my content on my blog and I will keep you updated on the progress of the shipping of my PVR.

Holidays are Coming!

The Holidays are nearly here, only one more week left of school and then I don't have to worry about homework! I am so excited for these holidays as it is my first ever holidays in Caloundra and will be going surfing when I want to and not when I can. Also a big event happening in my holidays is that our family is moving into our new house, so this now means I get a new computer/gaming setup (I will be making a setup video later on in the holidays). My setup will contain one computer monitor 20", one TV 32", (the computer monitor and the TV is used at a dual screen setup), I will have my Xbox and my sound system on my desk as well, so I am going to have fun for the first half of my holidays. But, I will only get to use this setup for half of the holidays as from Wednesday 11th April will be in Melbourne to see my family and friends, I might do a blog post once in Melbourne just to give you guys an update on what is happening. I'm excited to also see my family again, even though I am in Melbourne every two months, it's good to catch up with them, because the only time I get to talk to them, or see them is either on Facebook or Skype. I hope you guys have fun on your holidays, if you are still in school, and have a safe trip to where ever you may go.



I will also be uploading more content to my YouTube page over the holidays as I am getting my 250GB internet back, I am excited for this only because I like showing people my art in video, so you can see the creation as it is being created, more than just showing you a canvas of just an image.

Over the holidays I will also be reviewing anf using Photoshop CS6 Beta, I am still yet to download the Beta but will download it sometime later this week. InvalidDesigns First Graphics Pack!

So I've been thinking for the last couple of days that I should make a "Graphics Pack" for you guys the readers, as I now have over 500 pages views and feeling confident that most of you are keening tunned. I will make a video on the Graphics Pack and the video will be uploaded to this blog post sometime this week. In that video there will be a download link as to where you can download the pack from. New Section!

The art work can be any style of art but can not contain inopropriate content as there are younger children viewing this blog and I don't want to get taken off blogger because someone has sent me art of inopropriate content.

Quick Update

Hey Guys. This weeks posts is going to be an About Me post.

Hobbies: Photoshoping, Video Editing, Playing Games on both the Computer and Xbox 360.

Most weekends I normal spend on the computer editing my heart out or at the beach surfing, and NO! I don't spend hours apon hours on the computer, I have breaks in between so before you start judging me I just thought I would explain that to you. I am very active during the week as I play tennis 3 days a week, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and I also attend guitar lessons on a Wednesday. New Background that I just put together in a couple of hours. Got inspired by Skillex's new song Bangarang, Put together a dubstep playlist on iTunes and a couple hours later this was produced. Its an alright piece of work I think, its not my best, and it's not my worst. I really enjoyed doing this background because I got to use my favourite colour, red. Making a Profesional looking Desktop Background

This week I am going to upload a How To video on making a good professional looking Desktop Background for your computer. The video will be uploading sometime this week so make sure you stay tuned for that video. Included in the video will be the correct setting on how you would set up your canvas so get good HD quality when you are finished making the desktop background. I will also give you helpful links so that you can download free fonts, brushes and patterns to make your desktop background come alive. New Desktop Background

Hey guys, Yesterday I was working on a new background for my computer, It took me a bit over an hour because I didn’t know what to add to it. I will be uploading the picture on this post later today. If you would also like to make your own background in Photoshop, Paint.net or Gimp, I will be doing a how to to find out the size of your desktop size and making a good background. In the video I will also include the setting that you should use if you are just starting off with your photo editing program.
